Today's Scripture Passage: Numbers 6:24-26
24 "The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."Today's Scripture Message:
As my children and I were approaching the car to head over to the game store, a woman approached us with a picture of her and her child and said “...we have no money to eat, can you spare some change”. Normally I would have a dollar or two in my pocket, but this time only a nickel, so as I reached in the car to pull out my wallet, but my 9 year old, with his wallet in hand, reached around all of the single dollars he had in there and pulled out a $10.00 bill and handed it to the woman. What made this moment so special was my son spent months saving up his money for a game he’s wanted since Christmas that he was told he’d have to buy, and on the day that we were literally to go an purchase that game, he was willing to sacrifice what he wanted to care for someone else. Needless to say this was one of those moments that was so simple but packed a huge blessing in it. I thought to myself one day this little guy, with a huge heart, will be a great man… A moment, I won’t forget.
Prayer for the day:
Father, continue to show me the beauty of all things – great and small. Help me to recognize the blessing in each moment I am gifted the opportunity to see, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thought for the day:
The little things? The little moments? They aren’t little.
~ John Zabat-Zinn
Goal for the Day
Let the light within you shine beyond the surface that it lays as a red carpet before you, reaching out to others welcoming you along your path.

Pastor Dickow’s Fast from Wrong Thinking
Revolution Day 36:
Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I guess I have to accept living paycheck to paycheck.” Approximately 70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, and so many more around the world.
Let’s change it today:
1. EXPECT a life of abundance. (John 10:10) Jesus came to GIVE you an abundant life HERE and in HEAVEN!
2. Eliminate passivity from your thinking. Matthew 11:12 says, “The violent take the kingdom by force.” This is a mindset—refusing to accept things the way they are.
3. Declare an all-out war on debt. Speak to it - Mark 11:23. Forgive others of it—Matthew 6:12. Eliminate it—get rid of credit cards; reduce all non-essential spending (that new pair of shoes is NOT essential.).
4. After tithing, commit to saving money EVERY week. Add to a savings account every week, and God will increase it. (1 Corinthians 3:6).
5. Before you buy ANYTHING, ask: does this increase in value or add true value to my life. If NOT, don’t buy it.
THINK IT & SAY IT:
I expect to live the life of abundance that Jesus paid for me to have. I will not live from paycheck to paycheck anymore. I take control of my finances by force and declare war on debt from every direction. I am a tither, a saver and an investor in things that increase. I am rich in Christ, and blessed, in Jesus’ Name!

Daily Lenten Reflection from
St. Michael of Old Town
Wednesday of the Fifth Week of Lent
4/13/2011
Jesus replied “Very true I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to if forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:34-36)
This statement rang particularly loudly for me when completing the readings for my Lenten reflection being a recent candidate of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Growing up, I had always heard of Confession but my knowledge was limited to the passed information from a few friends. “Confession” - the word itself just seems so daunting to an outsider. It was not until my days as a “candidate” were becoming numbered that I began to give much thought to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (as I learned it is properly known). My days were becoming fewer before I had to go to confession and my nervousness was increasing. I constantly questioned my fiancé/sponsor about what process entails, the exact meaning of sin, and what I should be expecting. And soon enough the big day was here.
Upon completing the Sacrament of Reconciliation, I immediately felt a sense of relief and serenity. Expressing my inner most thoughts and shortcomings is not something I have done on a frequent basis, to be honest…ever. The introspection into myself, my inner world, helped bring aspects forward in my life where I could ask for guidance from the Lord. And it was not until I completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation did I realize the healing power of the Lord and the sense of calm it would provide.
