Day 10 Reconciliation Fasting

Nothing Bought, or Requiring the Compromise of Your Dignity

can Compare to the Value of Your True Worth

Today’s Scripture: Genesis 39: 1-10 (NIV)

1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.

2 The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. 6 So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7 and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"

8 But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" 10 And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

Today’s Scripture Message

We witness many people pushing ahead at the expense of others. The position, the stature, the fortune and fame is more important than the lives ruined in its pursuit. The greatest blessing is the fact that what you were given is a part of you, it can’t be bought, it can’t be stolen, no lie can overpower it, no dollar amount large enough for someone else to own it. It is the greatness of God within you and it is yours to apply in everything you do.

Material things are fleeting. A car can be replaced, money re obtained, a home repurchased, stop attaching your worth to those things. There are two certainties in life…time will never return to you & your life, once it’s gone, it’s gone. Value your time & live every second as if it was your last enjoying every moment.

Thought for the Day:

““Always look to the good stuff in your life, otherwise you're wasting what time you're given here sulking about the crap that in the end won't be anything to you.”.” Unknown

Goal for the Day:

Waste No Time.

Success Is Who You Are, Not What You Have

Today, we’re fasting from the thought that says, “This economy is standing in the way of my success. ”Let's CHANGE IT TODAY:

Believe you have the power to succeed in any economy. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, "...God has given you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant." Notice what God gives you: the power to get it. This promise is for YOU. Meditate on it.

Understand the ROOT to success—meditating on the Word of God. Psalm 1:1-3 says, "...As long as you flood your mind with the Word of God, God will fill your life with success." Your success is connected to you flooding your mind with the Word. It is not dependent upon or connected to the economy.

Become favor-minded. Expect God to open doors for YOU that no one can close (Revelation 3:8). He wants to overtake you with increase and favor. (Psalm 115:14) Favor surrounds YOU like a shield. (Psalm 5:12) Fill your mind with FAVOR-EXPECTATION.

Success is WHO YOU ARE, not what you have. Remember Joseph. Stripped of everything and sold into slavery, the Bible calls him a SUCCESSFUL man (Genesis 39:1-2). He ‘was a successful man'. By BEING that, external success followed.

Be covenant-minded. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all succeeded in times of FAMINE and economic trouble. (Genesis 24, 26 & 28) You have been promised the same blessing as them! (Galatians 3:29) Expect it!

Refuse to let the economy or anything else determine your limitations and possibilities. ASK SUCCESS. THINK SUCCESS. EXPECT SUCCESS. It will always comes.

THINK IT & SAY IT:
I have the power to succeed even in the worst economy. God will establish His covenant in this earth through me. I choose to fill my mind with the GOOD news rather than the current news. The Word is my meditation, day and night. I am favor-minded. It's coming to me every day, somehow, someway. I am a successful person, and successful living follows! I think big success; ask big success; and I expect BIG success, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 9 Reconciliation Fasting

Grace is a Gift

Today’s Scripture: Luke 18:9-14 (NIV)

9To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'

13"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'

14"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Today’s Scripture Message

It is not Gods will that you measure up to a standard but live humbly within the measure you were provided, giving of the excess of that measure as a blessing to others knowing you are a vessel and residing in you is the spirit of His word and the essence of his presence guiding you peacefully & joyously beyond your expectation, but fully within His purpose for you. Live your life purposely in representation of the greatness of God that is You.

Thought for the Day:

“Humility is the only true wisdom by which we prepare our minds for all the possible changes of life.” George Arliss

Goal for the Day:

Stop trying to earn what you have already been gifted, accept the gift and give one.

I’m Just Not a Strong Enough Christian

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I’m just not a strong enough Christian.”

Who hasn’t thought that at times? Not strong enough to overcome the temptation you’re facing; not strong enough to keep going; not strong enough to make it through this economy or trials you're facing. Let's CHANGE IT TODAY:

  1. Rejoice in your weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:5 (LB) says, "I am going to boast only about how weak I am and how great God is to use such weakness for his glory." When we are weak, that’s when God’s strength is activated.

  1. Stop making promises to God. Not only does that wear you out, and frustrate you; but it's an insult to God’s grace. Christianity is not about the promises we make to God, but the promises He made to us. Look up 2 Peter 1:4. It's by the promises we live!

  1. Wake up with the Holy Spirit! First thing in the morning, admit you’re weak (rather than waiting for life to beat you into admission!) Ask for His help. He’ll pray through you. (Romans 8:26)

  1. Strength comes from the Word of God. Fill up on it. 1 John 2:13 says...you are strong because the Word abides in you—THEN you overcome the evil one.

  1. See your weakness as an offering. Give it to God, He will use it and use you anyway, proving His greatness. You give God glory when your trust is in Him not in yourself.

  1. You don’t have to look good. In your honest admission and trust, God opens the heavens and works in you from the inside out. (John 1:47, 51)

THINK IT & SAY IT:
God’s strength is working in me, even in my weakness. I stop trying to look good, and trust the Word of God to give me the strength I need. God is working in me, and He will finish what He started. I live by the promises of God, and by the Holy Spirit strengthening me today, in Jesus’ Name.

Day 8 Reconciliation & Fasting

You Are Intended

Today’s Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Today’s Scripture Message

No one & nothing you go through determines who you are. No label is large enough to encompass the creation you are. You are purposely made and your life has meaning; an intent for greater things. I’ve said it before, “no one can tell you who you are & make you believe it.” Your sense of self is an asset you and only you hold the title to. You chose to rise above negativity, you chose to have faith, you chose to move forward when everything around you is trying to hold you back YOU CHOSE!!! Have faith in the guidance of the spirit according to His word. Meditate on it until it becomes part of your daily routine, not just hearing it or reading it, know it and have faith.

Thought for the Day:

“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.” Dennis Waitley

Goal for the Day:

Chart your path, Check for road blocks, Enjoy the ride

You Never Know How Life Will Turn Out

Fast From A Negative Attitude (Part 3)

I’d like us to spend one more day fasting from a negative attitude, and more specifically, let's fast from the thought that says, “You never know how life will turn out.” This mindset of uncertainty and helplessness must be eradicated from our lives.Let's CHANGE IT TODAY:

  1. Your attitude is one thing over which you have total control.
As we said yesterday, "attitude determines altitude"; therefore, we can determine how our life will turn out. So let's set our attitude high, positive, believing all things possible. (Mark 9:23)

  1. The choice is YOURS!
God has given us the power to choose how our life will turn out. In Deut. 30:15, 19, God said, “Now listen, TODAY I’m giving you the choice between life and death; between prosperity and adversity....Now CHOOSE life...” Live every day with knowledge that you hold your future in the choices you make

  1. Happen to Life.
Refuse to let life happen to you. Let's get rid of the ‘take life as it comes’ mindset. Remember Moses, when his rod turned into a serpent (Exodus 4:4), God said, “Reach out your hand, and take it by the tail.” Today, let's take life by the tail. Grab it. Speak to it. Be its boss!

  1. Embrace the fact you have a destiny. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “...I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you...plans to give you the future you hope for.” Anything you can continue to hope for, God will deliver. HOPE BIG today!
  1. Expect turnarounds. Don’t be defined by the current condition or past failures of your life. God is in the turnaround business. He turns the curse into a blessing (Deut. 23:5); mourning into gladness (Psalm 30:11); shadow of death into morning light (Amos 5:8). Expect it today!
  2. THINK IT & SAY IT:
I reject uncertainty and helplessness. I have control over my life by the choices I make. I choose life and blessing today, and God is backing me up. I happen to life and take it by the tail. I hope big today, and believe God plans to give me the life I’ve always hoped for. No matter how it looks, I believe in the God of turnarounds, and expect them today, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 7 Reconciliation & Fasting

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 43:1-3 (NIV)

1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

Today’s Scripture Message

When you can not see the forest for all of the trees, close your eyes and revel in the amazement of the clear path mapped out for you. Your attitude determines the direction you are headed. How do you know you are on the right path?... So many things are hurled at you that you can’t see 1 foot ahead of you but this is when you hold on to your faith, praise Him & give him glory and as you feel those burdens falling away from you, your path becomes clearer and your walk full of purpose. Keep your peace, cling to your joy, reach as high as you need to, to catch a hold of your faith and never allow it to leave you. Quiet your spirit and meditate on his word, it is the only assurance (insurance) you need, your claim in His kingdom will never be denied

Thought for the Day:

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." ~Abraham Lincoln

Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It's simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step. Joni Ericson-Tada

(From Pastor Gregory Dickow’s – Fast From Wrong Thinking)

Fast From A Negative Attitude (Part 2)

Attitude IS everything. And I want us to obliterate negativity from our lives. You CAN control whether life is easy or hard, by your attitude. People who hang on to their negative attitudes, never grow. They never experience the joy, contentment and success that comes when we fast from the wrong attitude. Let's…CHANGE IT TODAY:

Redefine “Attitude”. Attitude is a MINDSET that takes precedence over all other facts. Commit this to memory. It will guide you through and above many storms. I adopt a mindset of victory that takes precedence over all other facts! Attitude DOES determine altitude. It's a phrase that originates from flying. The attitude indicator controls the position of the plane, so that it stays consistently above, parallel to the horizon. Ready to reach new horizons? Set your mind on things above (Colossians 3:2).

PROGRAM your attitude to “ABOVE ONLY” thinking. Determine the attitude—mindset you will have BEFORE life strikes. “This is how I’m going to think today, no matter what comes my way.” Deuteronomy 28:13 says, “The Lord has made YOU the head and not the tail. You will be ABOVE ONLY and not beneath.” NIV says, “YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AT THE TOP.” Refuse to accept any other way of thinking or living.

You have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). The mind of Christ is an attitude. Jesus saw food when 5000 were hungry. He saw healing when multitudes were sick. He saw life when a child was dead. His attitude—what He saw—took precedence over all other facts. You have that mind. Start seeing what He saw. SEE the solution in every problem.

God gave you a phenomenal brain. Ask your brain better questions. IT is smarter than you have thought. Ask it, “What’s good about this situation?” And pause to let it search for answers. It WILL come up with the positives, and with solutions. 2 Timothy 2:1 says YOU HAVE A SOUND, HEALTHY, BRILLIANT MIND.

THINK IT & SAY IT:
My mindset is ABOVE ONLY. I refuse to accept any other way of thinking. I am above the devil, above fear, above poverty, above ‘just getting by’. I am the head and not the tail. I set my attitude EARLY and will not any other facts deter me from what God said about me. I have the mind of Christ, and I see the solution in every problem. My brain is powerfully made in the image of God and I am meant to soar today, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 6 Reconciliation Fasting

Today’s Scripture: Galatians 5:1 & Galatians 5:22-23

5:1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 5:23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Today’s Scripture Message

So many times we allow our minds to be in bondage to our past, our present, to others expectations of us, to our falling short of our own expectations of ourselves, not allowing us to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I tell my children so many times everyone makes mistakes, our failures either springboard us to stand, improve and witness, or fall back and be anchored. I love this statement from Kevin Lyle's which states: "There are three types of people in this world, there are those who watch it happen, those who things happen to and those who make it happen...which one are you?" - I created my own answer to that question because acting within the fruit of the Spirit dictates we as followers are all of these things we watch to gain knowledge, hear and understand, we are humble enough to know things will happen, but we are to stand anyway give it to our Lord as his works are for our good and continue forward in our walk with Him; We are to boldly witness to His word and goodness and increase his church that all worship him...

Thought for the Day:

The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes. ~William James

Goal for the Day:

Take every negative thought, put it in the “dark room”, let them process and become beautiful pictures and enjoy what you see.

*********************************************************************************

(From Pastor Gregory Dickow’s – Fast From Wrong Thinking)

Today we’re fasting from a negative attitude.

An “attitude” is a mindset that takes precedence over all other facts. We must root out the mindset that interprets life in negative or critical terms. The attitude you have has the ability to make life as easy or as hard as you want it to be.

CHANGE IT TODAY:

  1. Focus on the positive things in your life.
Skeptics and pessimists say, “Oh, you’re just ignoring the problem’." No, you’re creating positive faith energy by FOCUSING on the good God has done in your life, which like a snow ball rolling down a hill, gains momentum and overtakes whatever is in front of it. (Luke 17:15-19)

  1. Confront worry right now.
How? Reverse it and imagine it being completely solved. Feel the feelings for a moment of what life would be like if it were solved. This creates in you an expectation. This is God-ordained day-dreaming, and as you create this image in your mind, things change. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

  1. Expect a job or promotion!
A Harvard study showed that 85% of jobs or promotions were obtained because of attitude. Only 15% were due to intelligence or knowledge of specific facts. Believe in the power of attitude. In Numbers 13:30, Joshua & Caleb had the attitude that they could conquer the giants.

  1. Be open minded about new possibilities in life. Chauncy M. Depew warned his nephew not to invest $5,000 in Ford Automobile stock because nothing could come along that would be better than the horse! 2 questions: Who’s ever heard of Chauncy Depew?’ And ‘have you driven a Ford lately?’ Original creativity, innovative solutions, and inventive genius are God's gifts. Expect them and believe in them.

  1. Make your greatest discovery today! Is the greatest discovery peanut butter, the moon, television, the internet? No. The greatest discovery in life is that you can change your life by changing the attitude of your mind. Jesus said, “IF YOU CAN BELIEVE, all things are possible.” (Mark 9:23).

THINK IT & SAY IT:
My life is getting easier not harder! I focus on the good things in my life. I refuse to focus on what’s gone wrong in my life. God has been good to me. I reverse worry and use my imagination to envision a worry-free life. I expect jobs, promotions and success to come my way, because I am a believer. My attitude of faith and expectation takes precedence over all other facts...beginning today, in Jesus Name!

Day 5 Reconciliation Fasting

Talents are Gifts, Blessing for You to Use to Bless Others, Use Them

Today's Scripture Focus: 1 Kings 8:56-61

"Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses. May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our fathers; may he never leave us nor forsake us. May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep the commands, decrees and regulations he gave our fathers. And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day's need, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other. But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time."

Today’s Scripture Message:

About a year ago I heard a wonderful message about breaking through the old way of thinking and using what you have right where you are to spread the Word of God the Good News of Christ. I watched a group of skateboarders who have a professional group called King of King's Skateboarding Team who use their talents to spread the Word of God to the youth of the world. These are tee shirt, gym shoe and baseball cap wearing young men witnessing through their talent winning hearts to Christ and it resounded with me regardless of the package you come in, Corporate, Athlete, Actor, Singer, Construction Worker, Homeless Person whatever package you are in God Can and Will Use YOU right where you are; have the faith in him, that he has in the creation that is you and Praise God for the vessel you are and go out and share His goodness with everyone you meet.

(From Pastor Gregory Dickow – Fast From Wrong Thinking)

Today we’re fasting from Negative Imaginations.

What we imagine within has the power to come to pass. Fear is simply a negative imagination. ‘Seeing’ something bad happen in your mind before it happens is how fear works. Job said, “What I have feared (imagining his children failing), has come upon me." (Job 3:25)

Let's Change Negative Imaginations TODAY:

  1. Recognize your imagination is a gift from God. You are a powerfully creative individual, made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:28) As you read and follow Jesus in scripture, you are discovering what you’re made of. 1 John 4:17 says, "As He is, so are you in this world." Amazing!
  2. Cast down ‘images’, imaginations of fear, and past failures. (2 Corinthians 10:5) How? You flood your thoughts with the miracles of Jesus, the victories of God’s people, the vivid pictures that scripture paints. See yourself lying down beside green pastures, enjoying God’s presence. As you fill your mind with scripture images, peace comes. Isaiah 26:3 RSV says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose imagination is stayed on thee.”
  3. Imagination is a gateway to God’s power and ability. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us..."(NIV) Notice, God’s power works within us through our imagination. What you can imagine, God can do.
  4. Our imagination is the eyes of our spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal and subject to change." As we LOOK at the promises of God with our inner eyes, even though they haven’t shown up yet, things will eventually change.
  5. Fill your imagination with the unlimited possibilities of scripture. That’s why we must believe the highest promises of the Bible. They elevate our imagination. As they occupy your imagination, there will be no room for diseased fantasies or images, such as pornography, or past mistakes, or sinful ambitions, etc. Colossians 3:2 says to set your mind on things above. Mark 9:23 says, "All things are possible for those who believe (see it on the inside)."
  6. Let yourself think imaginatively today. Expect a “nudge” from the Holy Spirit; a holy ‘hunch’; an idea that keeps coming to your mind, a vision, a godly dream. Act on those “images”, if they don’t contradict scripture.

THINK IT & SAY IT:
I have the creative power of God working in me to solve problems, to bring success, to bring answers to others. I cast down images in my mind—of fear, failure or the expectation of evil. I will allow the scriptures to paint images in my mind of victory and success. I set my mind on things above. I expect to see, by faith, what my natural eyes can’t yet see; and I expect those things to come to pass, in Jesus’ Name.

Day 4 Reconciliation Fasting

Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life

Today's Scripture Focus: Matthew 7:3-5

"3Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Today’s Scripture Message:

The power of your thoughts can either bind you or free you, you make the choice. I heard an interesting message yesterday about the separation of soul & spirit. "We are a spirit being, we live in a body and we possess a soul. The real person inside of us is our spirit. Our soul consists of our mind, will and emotions. Our bodies are obviously what we live in while we are here on earth." Free your mind, control your emotions, direct your will. When you change YOUR thinking and balance YOUR life the manifestation of YOUR spirit becomes evident because you are being an example. It will be evident to all you come in contact with before you say a word. I reflect on my grandmother's words whenever there were disagreements in the family "It takes two to tango" and we were made to see our own fault in the situation. When you focus on you and what you could have done better to improve a situation you are owning your faults. Once you own them you control them. Once you control them you move past them. "Change YOUR thinking, Change YOUR life".

**************************************************************************

(From Pastor Gregory Dickow – Fast from Wrong Thinking)

Every time you put God’s Word into your thought life, you are making an investment. You are building up an account. This account gets fuller and fuller UNTIL it spills over into the other areas of your life. TRULY spend the next 40 days immersing yourself in these new thought patterns, and you’ll see the difference.

Today, we’re fasting from the thought that says, “Not everyone can have great success."

Let's CHANGE IT TODAY:

ANYONE who meditates on the Word of God can have GREAT success. That means YOU. Psalm 1:1-2 says, "Blessed is the man who...meditates on the Word of God day and night...and in whatever he does, he succeeds."

All success begins in your thinking. 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you would succeed (prosper), and be in health, even as your soul succeeds (prospers)." Your emotional, physical and financial well being is tied to your thought life.

RE-TRACE your lineage and family tree. SUCCESS IS IN YOUR BLOOD! You are a descendant of the most successful people in the history of the world: Abraham (Gen. 24:1), David, Solomon, etc... You are the seed of Abraham, and an HEIR of all that he had. Whatever God did for him, He has promised to do for you! Galatians 3:29

RE-DEFINE the meaning of success. Success IS the willingness to endure pain—the pain of starting over; changing our view of ourselves; the pain of forgiving; letting go of hurt; learning a new way of thinking. Anyone CAN have success; but not everyone is willing to bear the pain of these changes.

SUCCESS is not what you have. It's who you are. Genesis 39:2 says, "And the Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man." Notice, Joseph’s success was personified. 1. God was with him. (And God is with you!) 2. The Bible calls Joseph a successful man, before success shows up in his life. (That’s what the Bible says about you, too!)

COMMIT TO meditating on the Word of God. It is the first, middle and last step of true success. Great translation of Joshua 1:8 is “Never stop speaking these teachings. You must think about them night and day so that you will do what is written. That’s when you will prosper and succeed.” THINK THE WORD—SPEAK THE WORD—THEN WATCH THE PROMISES OF THE WORD SHOW UP!

THINK IT & SAY IT:

I choose to meditate on the Word of God, which is the key to great success. I believe it starts in my thinking and I flood my mind with the promises of God. I embrace the pain of changing my thought life, and expect success. I have a covenant right to true and biblical success. It is in my blood. I break out of all past limitations, and I will walk the GREAT success that God has promised, in Jesus’ Name!
