Who Resides In You

Today's Scripture Passage: Isaiah 55:10-11 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.. ................................................................................................. Today’s Scripture Message: We are all human (mind, body & spirit) & as brothers & sisters in Christ (faithful). The Word of God is the Spirit of God and his intention for each of our lives. We all are spiritually inhabited. What is the state of the spirit that dwells within you? I reiterate, God will not go where he is not invited. For him to take residence in your life, in your community, in your environment he must be welcomed into it. Just as an invited friend coming to stay with you for a while, you get to know his/her likes & dislikes so their stay will be comfortable and accommodating…same with our Lord, to know him is to know His Word. To love Him is to have faith in His Word. To honor him is to emulate his Word and share it with others. LET HIM IN!!! Be that vessel; that spiritual representation of our Father that walks in your community. He will show up & show OUT!!! LET HIM IN, let him in. The confessions of your faith in His Word will cover your life, your family, your community, your city, your state, your world; KNOW IT IS SO and that His spoken word will not return to you void. Wisdom, Knowledge & Understanding

Today's Scripture Passage: Proverbs 22:17-21 17Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, 18For it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. 19So that your trust may be in the LORD, I teach you today, even you. 20Have I not written thirty sayings for you, sayings of counsel and knowledge, 21teaching you to be honest and to speak the truth, so that you bring back truthful reports to those you serve?. ...................................................................................................... Today’s Scripture Message: The best gift given is one that costs nothing, except the lesson it presented, and is then passed on. How do we ensure the foundation of our legacy? By sharing the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of our living in reflection of the Word of God to those who precede us that their foundations be strong and they grow to build bigger and better things on the strength of the foundation provided them. Not until I was an adult did I understand the beauty of the values of what I was taught by my parents and grandparents. That, though it was passed along without explanation, as I grew older, I found more and more biblical principal wrapped firmly around all I was told and taught. Though our childhoods are not at all perfect, but perfectly purposed to shape our adult existence, it is the lesson of our living that allows us insight into who we are, granting us the wisdom, knowledge & understanding to pass along to our children and others. I watch now as my children, attend church and Sunday school with me and smile remembering the days we’d go as kids and the brunch/breakfast that followed and many times, though many of my immediate family have since passed on, as I sit in the pews of the church, feel them sitting with me in my Father’s house and smile as I think…I have not & will never forget you and the love you provided. That it is permeating through my home, through my kids and will live on in theirs. Though they were too young to remember you themselves, they will remember you through me and love you as much as I do, such is my Father and Savior. ........................................................................................................... Humility Provides a Teachable Spirit

Today's Scripture Passage: Deuteronomy 8:2-3 20 And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has let you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you , testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. ........................................................................................................... Today’s Scripture Message: Have you ever received a message in several different ways from several different sources (one not associated with the other). If you have then you can appreciate my excitement and joy of the reaffirming nature of Our Father when I share this with you… This past Sunday, our Pastor asked our Church (St. Michael’s), to read and reflect on the word of God Daily; where it alone spoke to my heart as I recently continued writing each weekday in The Daily Covering. Now, as I ran around today to “put out fires” and cover bases, with our program and many other things, I was racing back to write today’s message (which was something completely different by the way) when Nancy Leigh DeMoss of Revive Our Hearts, came on the Moody Broadcast and told a story about dehydration and the body’s need for water. Her point was a Christian Body that is spiritually dehydrated, without taking the time to nourish the spirit with the water of the Word of God daily. This reaffirmed my reason for wanting to share the Word of God through The Daily Covering for the last four years, Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them” and the vision of my heart to share the presence of our Lord with everyone who’s eyes meet his word as we pray together all over the world. How humbling knowing as we pray and focus on His Word, there he is with us blanketing our world with his love, grace and blessings. Needless to say, I happily accept the change in today’s message and share it with you. Humble and open your hearts, and quench the thirst of your spirit with the soothing water that is His Word and then share it with as many others as you can. ........................................................................................................... Prayer for the day: Father, thank you for the gifts you have given each one of us, the sacrifice of our Savior, the grace and mercy which makes way to our ability to offer the very gifts you gave us to help others. Dictate Your Circumstance & Act

Today's Scripture Passage: II Corinthians 1:20 20 for no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. ................................................................................................... Today’s Scripture Message: There is NO circumstance that you face that can not be handled, as God wills. God does not test you with evil, it is beneath Him, already defeated. His word states: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7” Not maybe it will…IT WILL, but he will not enter a place where He is not welcomed. Invite God in. Speak His word over your circumstance. My father does not lie!!! Decide

Refuse to be Moved

Refuse to be moved by the combative force that is put in your way to keep you from His kingdom and that which is purposed for you. Peace, Love & Thanks - Giving

Today's Scripture Passage: Colossians 3:15 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace and be thankful. ...........................................................................................................Today's Scripture Message: Waking up hearing mostly all that was “wrong” with the world and my heart sank just a little, until I thought, “there but for the grace of God, go I” thinking of my mother and grandparents who have since passed away and all of the lessons of my living that remain with me as a foundational springboard to insist on doing better, no matter what, keep moving. Family, as well as life in general, is all imperfect except for the love that resonates from one to the other, different for each who experiences it but a glue that binds in good times as well as not the best of times. The fact of the matter is because of the love of those who precede us, with the grace of our Lord & Savior, we are here and I thank God for the gift of the lessons of each day. Some happy and others trying but in each an opportunity to learn, love and share allowing those who surround me to experience life with me, not in burden or triumph but in the expression of the greatness of the lesson learned. Life for me has not been perfect by far but everyday that I witness the twinkle in the eye of my children, in the face of the neighbor that greets me daily, in the smiles and funny expressions of those who keep me laughing, in the commitment made by others to lift those who are having trouble standing, in the efforts made to “get the job done”, and the remembrance of those who have gone before me, I learn to humbly say “I appreciate you”, “I forgive you”, “I am proud of you”, “How can I help”, but most of all “I love you” & “Thank you”. So as this day progresses, and you look around you, remember to simply say “Thank you”. ...........................................................................................................Prayer for the day: Father forgive me. Help me to always remember I am flawed and my perfection is the existence of you in my life. Hold my tongue and guide my heart that I never feel I have risen so high I somehow am better than my brother or sister in need. Thanks & Praise, Right Where You Are

Today's Scripture Passage: Hebrews 12:28 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. ...........................................................................................................Today’s Scripture Message: Thanksgiving extends long past the holiday. We have been gifted with one special day to remember the appreciation we have for the people, places and things around us. Imagine that appreciation everyday for the gifts we were granted. Imagine the enjoyment of the day extending throughout the year…Why not? A man told a story a couple of years ago about his Thanksgiving experience which went something like this: “The gas is off in my house, but thank you to my mother-in-law who came over with hot plates and “worked out” a GREAT meal.” With no regret, no reflection of the fact the stoves / heat weren’t working, no blame for the bill not being paid, no reflection of why they didn’t have…Just the utmost appreciation of the fact his family and holiday included a warm meal…It could have been different, but his household remained unshaken despite the circumstance. Today’s Scripture Message: I woke up today not feeling 100% and couldn’t understand why I was not able to turn off the concerns of yesterday and simply focus on the beauty of what is right here, right now. I picked up my bible and just opened it and it opened to a note I’d written over a year ago to post at The Daily Covering and hadn’t, I am not really sure why I hadn’t but something kept me from doing so. I woke this morning asking if what I am doing is what I am to do as things are a little more trying than normal and my refuge is always in his word, it has never failed me.
