Happy Father's Day!!!

Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

"Today we honor the Men who understand the power of their roles...we honor the ones who love imperfect children yet see them perfectly... we honor the ones whose sacrifice comes on silent whispers to our hearts often not realized until long after the moment has passed...we honor them that stand planted determined to be Fathers. To my Father and all the Men I know who are Fathers...." - Dwan Russell
Thank you Father, for my father, my grandfather, the father of my children and all of the fathers on their knees in representation of you on behalf of us all. Keep them safe and wrapped firmly within your arms that they lead their homes in courage, honor, stead fastness and love, in Jesus' Name, AMEN!

Eye to Eye

Today's Scripture Passage: Matthew 7:3-5

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Today's Scripture Message:

One thing is for sure everyone, EVERYONE has fallen short of the glory of God.  The greatest example of Christ is that all is welcomed. Once you except Christ as your Lord and Savior you are saved and covered by the grace of God.  So how can we, the church, have the nerve to spite someone because of their past instead of being more concerned about their future.  You cannot rewrite history but the future is an empty page on an open tablet.

God is funny, he will place a servant near a serpent so they both can serve.  The greater the obstacle the greater the witness… as Christians we are responsible to lift another not condemn them. How are we examples of Christ when we lose our consistency dependent on the external conditions someone else may face instead of recognizing the condition of their heart and extend the opportunity for them to get to know God as you have.

Everyone’s experience is different. Everyone was not raised in a church, near a church or where church was mentioned at all. Remove the hypocritical tongue and let words of welcome flow freely from you. Every time you feel compelled to judge someone, remember the mercy that you’ve been shown, the price paid for your life and the content of your existence if Christ decided you were not worth saving. In the words of our Savior “forgive them Father, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). God bless you.

Prayer for the day:
Father forgive me. Help me to always remember I am flawed and my perfection is the existence of you in my life. Hold my tongue and guide my heart that I never feel I have risen so high I somehow am better than my brother or sister in need. That I never overlook the opportunity to share your word, your life and be witness to all that you are, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“One should examine oneself for a very long time before thinking of condemning others.”
~ Moliere

Goal for the Day:
Go put your creed into your deed. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

The Blessing of Children

Today's Scripture Passage: Psalm 127:3-5

3Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. 4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. 5Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Today's Scripture Message:

For years it has amazed me what can be learned from a child. Sure you teach them and guide them and do your very best to reach them that they grow into a strong adult, but there are those wonderful “jewel” periods when you sit back and watch them move into responsibility while pressing towards their unique identity.

I have been blessed to be surrounded by children of different ages, ethnicities and personalities and one of my most rewarding days happened over the weekend when seven children, all of whom from one time or the other were in my care, helped one overcome a fear that he’s had for a long time. Because he’d broken his collarbone falling a couple of years back he did not want to risk that happening again and refused to ride a bike. As I pulled up to the park where they were playing to pick them all up and return them home, I heard “You’re doing great!, and don’t worry, if you fall, I’m right here” and you heard claps and Yeah!!! And Good Job! So I turned to see him, not trying to ride, but riding that bike with his friends, cousin and sister in tow making sure to catch him if he fell.

Needless to say I witnessed a lot just watching them, a group of children of many differences come together, not leaving one behind.  The strength of the group joining to lift the spirits of another. The care and responsibility shouldered to keep one from falling, not accusing, not impatient, not malicious…loving and because of the unity of this group, they strengthened their fold by adding one more who removed his fear and accepted the challenge in love…One of the greatest representations of God working I have been privileged to see. Our Father is the same. All glory and honor to God as these children of purpose will grow to be adults of character.

Prayer for the day:
Father keep in every adult the heart of their youth where possibilities are always there and care without condition.  Help us to remain willing to learn even if that lesson falls upon us out of the mouths and examples of children that we recognize each blessing as it is and accept the glory of your magnificence in all that we encounter. Thank you for loving me so much that you place before me a bounty of life that I continue to absorb the beauty in all that I’ve been gifted to see and experience, and I thank you with all of my heart for always being that reassuring presence in all of my times, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like them.”
~ Pablo Casals

Goal for the Day:
Take the time to hear the heart of a child, in listening you just may learn something.

Our Proper Position

Today's Scripture Passage: Isaiah 53:5-6 & Ephesians 1:22

“5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” “22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church.”

Today's Scripture Message:

I heard one of the best descriptions about redemption this weekend and wanted to share it with you.  “…think of this analogy in reference to the physical make up of every human being… if Jesus is the head and we, the church, are the body and “God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church” as the body our placement is above the feet…in our redemption we as part of the body are already in the lead” (Pastor Fred Price).  What compels us to keep looking back as if we are not who we are?  The price for our life, as a Christian, has already been paid for through the blood and grace of our Lord and Savior something which “HAS BEEN DONE”…not “WILL BE”. Remember your proper position in Gods eyes as the wonderful creation of His hands. Seek him first daily and live your lives joyously and faithfully knowing all that you see is an opportunity within His will and my Lord, praise, honor and glory, what a marvelous blessing!!!

Prayer for the day:
Father it is my prayer that I always place first the duty and responsibility my Christian walk requires. That I come to you with everything…my concerns, my thanks, my praise, my faults, my hopes & dreams, my needs and wants…that all I do is focused on you, loving myself and others as you love me. Mostly keep in the forefront of my heart, your grace that I live faithfully as I am - knowing I am saved, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“Those of us who were brought up as Christians and have lost our faith have retained the sense of sin without the saving belief in redemption.  This poisons our thought and so paralyses us in action.”
~ Cyril Connolly

Goal for the Day:
Remember you are saved.

Reaching Out, Looking Up

Today's Scripture Passage: 2 Peter 1:5-7

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”

Today's Scripture Message:

How can I be sure what I am doing is effective? You can’t except to know that all that is done in service and assistance to others, in enlightenment and love is an effort that is never wasted. What I’ve experienced in life is: many times the reaction is far from what I expected, but the necessity of my action was exactly what was to be done. Not my way but His.  This path is never easy, but experience after experience – an opportunity to grow, learn and share. Perfection is not the expectation more than the faithful obedience to courageously do as purposed. Through it all, even when you feel as if there is only you there, God reaches out, lifts your head and reveals his presence reassuring your direction. Faithfully continue on your journey, as long as you breathe there is work to be done.

Prayer for the day:
Father thank you for strengthening my mind, heart, body and soul in understanding and love. Thank you for courage enough to seek you in every footstep. I am amazed daily with all that you have accomplished in me and in those who you set in my path to witness and be a witness to. I am appreciative that you held me so close that you never allowed me to drift away from your care. I am humbled by the confidence you have in me and will live my life in honor of you to the best of my ability. All praise and honor to you Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“Is the intention pure, selfless and born out of love? Is it based on truth? Does it result in peace? If so… it is a right action.”
~ Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Goal for the Day:
Keep moving forward knowing your effort on behalf of all whom you have assumed responsibility is never in vein. Remain focused, humbled and thankful for all that is purposed for you.
