Today's Scripture Passage: Numbers 30:1
2 “If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out his mouth.”
Today’s Scripture Message:
Do not take lightly the commitments you make to God, to yourself, to others. The power of your word and the expectation that follows it is one which should be revered until it is seen through to fruition. Does everything go as planned, are there upsets and anchors set along the way to move you away from that promise, sure, but communicate your intent to keep your commitment and continue forward seeing it through. The beauty and blessing of the Word of God is its relevance, poignancies and pertinence of His promises. If we are reflections of our father in the grace of our savior, Jesus Christ, should we not expect to mirror His word and resign to our commitments with the fervency our Lord has. More so than not, I remember the words of my parents and many who were placed in my life as mentors and admit, as an adult, I have realized many of those lessons are parallel to the Word of God and though as a teenager I did not understand the nature of those messages and lessons but hear myself many times sharing those exact things. May your words in all facets return to you fully rendering their intent. Be carefully, purposefully spoken and sure not to make a promise without the objective of keeping it.
