I had a wonderful conversation about prayer mainly focused on the premise of this scripture: I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” The definition of righteous is: acting in accordance with divine or moral law; free from guilt or sin. So if God’s eyes are on the righteous and his ears are open to the prayers of the righteous, why pray if we all are not free from guilt or sin?... Through the grace of the sacrifice of our Savior , Jesus Christ, we were provisioned with the ultimate intercessor. Our prayer is always in Jesus’ name as through him we have been forgiven, removed from guilt & sin. So “Be joyful always: 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Have faith & believe it is done.
Scripture of the Day: John 16:23-24
“23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Prayer for the Day:
Father we thank and praise you for your love, guidance, mercy and grace. For the ever presence of your light in all things and for the constant reminder of your un-weighted care for us. In our ups & downs & our righteousness and disobedience you remain our invariable source of unconditional love. We are your willing servants, continue to draw us nearer to you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thought for the day:
“Faith is putting all your eggs in God’s basket, then counting your blessings before they hatch “– Ramona C. Carroll
Goal for the day:
Pray your greatest intercessory prayer and act as if it has been granted.
