Rest Peacefully in His Grace

Today's Scripture Passage: Proverbs 3:24-26

24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.  25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, 26 for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

Today's Scripture Message:

I had a grandmother who said: “If you are going to pray, don’t worry…but if you are going to worry, don’t pray”. Put it in His hands according to His Word and know you are covered. Does this mean no action is required, no…it means daily move forward in faith, not worry. Make confident decisions, not those grasped in fear.  Put to prayer your concerns, put to prayer your request for protection, put to prayer your request for guidance, put to prayer your requests for forgiveness, know you have been heard and act accordingly.

Prayer for the day:
Father, keep me on path; my heart is to move only within your guidance. I humbly pray for forgiveness of all that I have done against your will.  I have been placed in a position which requires a decision and I ask that you help me to make the choice that is fully within your will, not mine. Direct me within your word that I may confess it directly over my circumstances. Protect me as I move confidently according to your instructions. Thank you for your love and favor on my behalf, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“God of our fathers, who by land and sea have ever lead us to victory, please continue your inspiring guidance in this the greatest of all conflicts. Strengthen my soul so that the weakening instinct of self-preservation, which besets all of us in battle, shall not blind me to my duty to my own manhood, to the glory of my calling, and to my responsibility to my fellow soldiers. Grant to our armed forces that disciplined valor and mutual confidence which insures success in war. Let me not mourn for the men who have died fighting, but rather let me be glad that such heroes have lived. If it be my lot to die, let me do so with courage and honor in a manner which will bring the greatest harm to the enemy, and please, oh Lord, protect and guide those I shall leave behind. Give us the victory, Lord.”
General George S. Patton
