Don't Be Fooled

Today's Scripture Passage: Proverbs 26:24-26

24 Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit. 25 Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. 26 Their malice may be concealed by deception,
but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

Today's Scripture Message:

Thinking back to the history of African Americans and the number of lives lost in the fight for equal rights and liberties, all who spoke out and because of their stance, perished for the greater good of the African Americans of the future.  To see today that our value of life, not just in the African American communities, but spanning the lives of Americans in general, from an infant to the elderly is still lacking in so many ways is pointed directly at self responsibility.  Corporations more concerned about the money than the consumers to whom they are selling to. Public officials, misusing tax payer dollars for personal gain. Judges negating the law in order to please the voters regardless of the life & liberties of the person accused, misusing the law mirroring those accused more than those sworn to uphold. Gangs “representing territorial colors” instead of “representing” and remembering the sacrifices of their forefathers to simply be able to walk down the street because of the color they were born with, more than claiming it for financial gain selling death and destruction. It ends only with the realization of individual responsibility. Knowing the wolf in sheep’s clothing and the potential affect on those outside of yourself is the personal identifier in self judgment calls. Change begins in each individual by filing the fangs in your own mouth, expanding the depth of your own understanding and by reaching out of your own experiences to reshape and renew the betterment of your community. To ignore what’s wrong as well as what’s right, either way, is to silently concur. Everything improves or becomes “new and improved” good or bad with time. Many times it has only taken one voice to stand and say “Enough!”, the loudest, most pertinent being the voice directed at the owner of a heart, by the owner of that heart.

Prayer for the day:
Father, instill in each of us the courage to say “it is my responsibility”. Help us to not pass along a problem but work together to improve always in every situation. Wrap firmly around the hearts of those placed in leadership positions to act according to the oaths they have taken and truly work as representatives of the people they swore to protect and serve. Place in the heart of every citizen the awareness of their responsibility as a pertinent, vital part of the community and guide our paths, according to your will, in you we trust, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“Man must cease attributing his problems to his environment, and learn again to exercise his will - his personal responsibility”
Albert Einstein

Goal for the Day:
Clean the glass house you live in to reveal the growth of  many beautiful flowers.
