Focus on Your Family
Family:
1Timothy 5:8-Nurturing
8If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Parents & Children:
Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverbs 22:6; Exodus 20:12 ; Proverbs 1:8
“These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up”
“Teach a youth about the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
“Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12).
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and don’t reject your mother’s teaching” (Proverbs 1:8).
Marriage
Genesis 2:24; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:3-4- Ephesians 5:25,28,33
“This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh”
“Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers”
“3The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.”
“Husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her… In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies… each one of you is to love his wife as himself…” (Ephesians 5:25, 28, 33).
Today’s Scripture Message
Family life today is under siege. Families are beset by divorce, a crisis in roles, absenteeism of parents, a breakdown of authority, preoccupation with things, inadequate time together, financial pressures, and a host of other problems. The Bible teaches that the institution of family is of divine origin and purpose. The Bible also provides guidelines for good relations within the family. The Bible contains God’s plan for achieving quality and health in family life. Christians are constrained to take very seriously the Word of God as it relates to the family. - The Ethics & Religious Liberty Committee.
Thought for the Day:
“If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.”
– Thich Nhat Hanh
Goal for the Day:
Take a deeper look at your family. Get to know them a little better & enjoy your discovery.

(From Pastor Gregory Dickow’s – Fast From Wrong Thinking)
Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “God doesn’t care.” We all know the empty feeling of going through something, and thinking God is distant and uncaring. This thinking will keep you defeated and powerless, until you....
Let's CHANGE IT TODAY:
- Jesus wept! What does this have to do with our thinking? When you realize He wept over Lazarus’ death, you will realize He cares—so much—that He raised Lazarus from the dead. (John 11:35)
- HE DOES CARE! 1 Peter 5:7...because He cares for you. Meditate on this verse.
- Jesus is praying for you right now! (Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:34)
- There is a sign at the throne of grace: “Welcome! Come freely.” God cares always, but desires us to come and ask for help IN FAITH. Faith is the key—James 4:2. Ask for help NOW! And believe you have it! NOW! (Mark 11:24)
- There is a sign at the throne of grace: “Welcome! Come freely.” God cares always, but desires us to come and ask for help IN FAITH. Faith is the key—James 4:2. Ask for help NOW! And believe you have it! NOW! (Mark 11:24)
- He gave you His Son (John 3:16), His Spirit (Acts 1:8), His Word (John 1:1), His armor (Ephesians 6:10-18), His anointing (1 John 2:27), His wisdom (James 1:5), His grace (Ephesians 2:8), His Church (1 Corinthians 12:18), ALL Things pertaining to life & godliness (2 Peter 1:3).ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!
THINK IT & SAY IT:
No matter what I feel like, God cares! He feels for me and He has made abundant grace available to me. Jesus is praying fro me right now—and He gets His prayers answered. I have ALL things pertaining to life and godliness--embrace His help and His care, by faith, in Jesus’ Name!
Happy 79th Day of the New Year!!!
Enjoy the Love of Family!!!
Many Blessings!!!
