Not Bad - Busy

Today's Scripture Passage: 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Today's Scripture Message:

Everyone has those times when everything comes at you all at once and you feel as if there is no “other side” to all that you are dealing with.  Keeping commitments to family, work, friends… trying to get it all done, that nothing lacks, as they are all of immense importance and seemingly resting upon your shoulders… It is not up to you, the outcome is faithfully in His hands, your responsibility is to act as best you can and know it is done.

I caught the second half of a Moody broadcast the other day and one thing stuck with me that I felt needed to be shared was the statement: “if the devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy” and the message went on to expound on the allowance of too many things on your plate to deter you from focusing on that which was truly meant for you…a clutter of allowable space for what is necessary with things that could better be taken care of with the assistance or delegation of/to others.

It provoked the questions “Am I making decisions in line with what I am supposed to do, or what I want to do?”  “Am I effectively using the resources that I have to assist with the things I am faced with?”  “Am I acting or reacting?”…
The business of burdens are removed when they are viewed within the solution & not the effect of the problem. I am reminded of Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” It is this way not because the circumstance is any different, but because of the choice in faith to calm your heart and mind knowing all that you do is not in vein, removing the stress and welcoming clarity permissive of an unobstructed view of what is necessary that it is completed. Cast onto Him the burden, weed through the busy and remain focused on the purpose and it will be done.

Prayer for the day:
Father, thank you for always answering my prayers; for hearing my heart and delivering instruction that is clear, loving and exactly what is needed in a manner that guides me and strengthens me daily. I appreciate your patience and care for me and will do my best to continue to look up that I don’t miss all that is meant for me. I am amazed by your presence in my life and praise you for all that has been done, is being done and will be done on my behalf, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the day:
“Every conquering temptation represents a new fund of moral energy.  Every trial endured and weathered in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before.”
~ William Butler Yeats

Goal for the Day:
Remove the clutter of busy and enlist the production of purpose.
