Day 1 Reconciliation Fasting

Forgiveness

Today’s Scripture: Colossians 3:13-15 (NIV)
13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Scripture Message:
As we begin this season of reconciliation & cleansing we have to remember the spirit of our Father who provided us our Savior who gave his life for our sins covering us in his blood sacrifice that our trespasses be forgiven. It is easy to hold on to anger, bitterness, disappointment & blame but as Christians we are instructed to forgive our enemy’s and bless them, freeing ourselves from the weight of that circumstance turning it over to God as he is the only Judge. In Romans 12:17-21 it states “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good .” Please do not forget to give of yourself and/or give up something in remembrance of our Savior.

Thought for the Day:
“Never forget the three powerful resources you always have available to you: love, prayer, and forgiveness.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Goal for the Day:
Remember all of the sacrifices that were made on your behalf.
