Be Content, Not Complacent

Today's Scripture Focus:
Hebrews 13:5-8 (NIV)

5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

6So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

7Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever

Prayer for the day:

Father, thank you for allowing my eyes to capture the purity of the simple complexity of everything around me. For letting me know when I am feeling grand as much as I am feeling less than, to look up and know you are there. For the soldiers you sent on my behalf to keep me encouraged so I could encourage. For the sunrise of this day that has warmed me to my soul and reminded me of the joy all around me. For hugging my heart to pour from the overflow into the hearts of others on your behalf. May every bit of my life fully represent the sacrifice of yours, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Scripture Message:

Content: Satisfied

Complacent: Contented to a fault; self-satisfied and unconcerned

In the past we’ve discussed balance, how everything was wonderfully created in balance…the universe, how every part of our bodies function in dependence of the other parts.

Content – satisfaction works in a similar manner. Being joyful and satisfied where you are does not remove the pursuit of future goals, it simply means those goals do not consume you, that you are happy reaching for those goals and aspirations as you would be receiving it. That you don’t kick a person down to raise yourself a little higher. That the life in the pursuit of happiness is as great as the receipt. Simply put, don’t miss the beauty of the butterfly on your knee and it’s gracefulness as it takes flight for reaching for the dollar on the ground, chances are you will miss something beautiful, right in front of you, meant especially for you.

Thought for the Day:

“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it” Confucius

Goal for the Day:

Stand still for just a moment & take it all in.

How do you comfort your ordeals daily that keep you up thinking and pacing at night..can you imply that you’re at a certain point in your life…which you can look back and say that you were absolutely fulfilled..will you be able to look back and say that you chased all your dreams…or can you say… I did everything I coul...d to realize those dreams..sometimes dreams come true and you really have to find that mutual ground of trust and respect.. be patient and it will come.

Just A Thought

Do you need help with your finances, home or work situation? Do you need Hope to fill the emptiness inside or to find Love that is uncompromised and unfailing? Jesus miraculously fed a huge crowd with just 5 small loaves of bread and 2 small fish. All the people ate and were satisfied. Jesus took control of the situation and met their need. Let Jesus have control of your situation and allow Him to meet your need.-MK
