Today's Scripture Passage: Luke 23:34
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
Today's Scripture Message:
My heart fell to my shoes as I watched the cheers of crowds at the mention of the death of a man. Though the chants were “USA” and the people wore clothing with our flag proudly displayed, I didn’t see America. I saw the face of a crowd reminiscent of that which we are fighting against. How is it we can behave as those who we are enemies of? How do we differentiate between the two? What makes us right and them wrong when we act similarly to what we claim is incorrect? If we could please take a moment and cover our nation with prayer that we, regain foundationally our structure “IN GOD WE TRUST” and reintroduce ourselves as a nation living our faith.
Prayer for the day:
Father, I come before you asking that you forgive us. That our lives be more reminiscent of the sacrifice you made for each of us. That in our actions we are thoughtfully careful to remember what we each were granted in your grace that we live faithfully lifting our brothers and sisters in respect for each life as you showed us, everyone individually the value you placed on each one in your sacrifice. Help us remember your unconditional love extends to every living creature throughout the world and that we have a responsibility to lead, love and assist according to your word. All glory, honor and praise to you, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
